Situation
I founded Lantern Games Studio to build Game Shop Simulator, a cooperative business simulation for one to eight players, targeting Steam on Windows and macOS.
Task
Own both sides of the studio: the software architecture and hands-on C# engineering, and the production work of scope, budget, priorities, and a contract team.
Action
- Architected the game in Unity 6 with the Universal Render Pipeline, and wrote the core C# systems: PlayerController, NPC behavior, and the InteractionSystem.
- Built multiplayer on Netcode for GameObjects so up to eight players can play together.
- Run the full development lifecycle: the Game Design Document, GitHub source control, technical documentation, testing priorities, and release planning.
- Hold recurring meetings across the engineering, art, and design teams to plan and drive development.
- Onboard and lead a cross-functional contract team of engineers, artists, and designers, and own product strategy, the roadmap, budgeting, and key decisions.
Result
- In active development for Steam on Windows and macOS.
- The core systems (players, NPCs, interactions, and multiplayer networking) are my own architecture and code.
- The contract team’s work is aligned to product milestones, with budget, priorities, and releases planned end to end.
