  1. Situation

    OnSpot Dermatology was a fast-growing healthcare startup with 10+ clinics, labs, and surgical centers, plus mobile clinics, and key network and IT workflows were still done by hand.

  2. Task

    Engineer and support production systems across every site, from applications and network to devices and infrastructure, and automate the repetitive work.

  3. Action

    • Automated targeted network and IT workflows with Python. For example, a script that checked the HPE switches at every clinic and the Cradlepoint routers on the mobile clinics, and flagged any device that was down, instead of someone checking each one by hand.
    • Built API integrations and Jira Service Management automations to route and resolve requests faster.
    • Implemented resilient connectivity: HPE/Aruba switching, firewalls, routers, and load balancers at the clinics, and Cradlepoint dual-carrier routers on the mobile clinics.
    • Rolled out Jamf Pro MDM for secure, zero-touch Apple device onboarding.
    • Led the secure migration of years of critical data to a new platform.

    • Eliminated 100% of manual work in the targeted network and IT workflows.
    • Accelerated triage and resolution by 50%.
    • Resilient connectivity at the clinics, with dual-carrier cellular keeping the mobile clinics online.
